The trust was launched in August with the aim of raising money for local and overseas causes through live music and dance events.

Previous beneficiaries have included Jersey Hospice.

On Saturday a local bands night at the Live Lounge featuring Personal Trainer, Leash, Von Papen and DJs Andy Ward and Martin Taylor of Fistful of Soul and DJ Salinger raised £410 for the Bukit Lawang Trust, a project based in North Sumatra.

On Sunday afternoon at the same venue an under-18s gig featuring MooG, Sneak Read-Out, The Absence, Ungenerix, Blacklight and Peggy Patch raised £520 for Help A Jersey Child.

In addition, trustee David Lambotte – aka DJ Salinger – donated his fee from DJ-ing at Synergy on Friday night.

‘£1,000 was our target so we’re very happy,’ Mr Lambotte said.

‘Our thanks to all the bands and DJs who gave their time for free and Nikki from the Live Lounge.’
