Christmas hamper coffee boost for Cooper & Co

Cooper & Co got the order for more than 50,000 sachets last week following a visit from a Boots microbiologist and hygiene consultant.

The sachets of 100% Aribica coffee from central America, which will make between four and eight cups, will be produced over the next couple of months at their Halkett Street premises.

Cooper & Co owner David Warr said: ‘They found us after carrying out a search on the internet – they were looking for smaller companies to fulfil their requirements and we appeared to fit the bill.

It came completely out of the blue.

‘Because their reputation is on the line, their standards are very demanding.

We used the expertise of Janet Wyatt, the head of the Jersey Dairy laboratory, to help us to make sure we could meet them.

After the visit from the Boots consultant we made some small improvements and last week they confirmed their order.
