It is also understood that vital information has been received since it was revealed that a £50,000 reward was being offered for intelligence leading to a conviction.

However, detective chief inspector André Bonjour, who is heading the murder inquiry, said that he believed there were still people with information who had not come forward.

He says he has received some useful information, but wants to hear from people who socialised or worked with Miss Hoeoek.

Miss Hoeoek was 20 when she was bludgeoned to death with a blunt object in a St Clement field on New Year’s Eve 1966.
