The Senator was part of a delegation from the Channel Islands that visited the northern Crown dependency yesterday and visited both a new sewage treatment plant and a new energy-from-waste plant in the island.
The Senator praised the multi-million-pound investments in infrastructure that were helping to achieve a much more environmentally friendly island.
However, Senator Ozouf said the Isle of Man had made significant inroads in developing new strands to its economy by investing in other areas.
He pointed to the success of the Isle of Man’s film commission in attracting movie and television programmes to be made in the island.
‘The government invested £20m and are seeing significant returns,’ said the Senator.
He said the Isle of Man had developed a successful e-business strategy and highlighted press reports where Korea was hailing the Isle of Man as a model for e-commerce development.
