Sir John in campaign against cancer

Sir John, Jersey Electricity Company chief executive Mike Liston, former St Mary Deputy Geoffrey Grime and former Income Tax Comptroller Bob Gaiger want others to learn from their life-changing battles with the cancer.

Each one has agreed to speak publicly about his very private ordeal in order that other men realise the seriousness of the potentially fatal illness.

In the interviews, to be published in the Jersey Evening Post next week, they will tell fellow Islanders how important it is for men over the age of 50 to have regular tests for prostate cancer.

The message is both simple and life-saving: prompt treatment following an early diagnosis has a high success rate.
