It was the idea of 12-year-old Rhys Lewis, who enlisted the help of his friend Jack Griffin (11).
The pair have been busy gathering support around their homes in St Clement and Havre des Pas over the last fortnight.
They were also out on Liberation Day around Jardins de la Mer, collecting signatures, and at the last count they had around 300.
They plan to ask a politician to take the petition to the States in the near future.
