Mollet replaces Peter Taylor, the former manager who returned as caretaker boss following the departure of Colin Brown early on in the season.
Mollet, who won Wheway and Le Riches Cup medals as a player when at St Peter FC, will be assisted by David Fitton who has left his position as player-manager at St Lawrence FC.
Mollet said: ‘Peter Taylor approached me with a view to taking over as manager and after thinking about it I’ve decided to take it on.
‘I’ve managed before at St Peter, with the second team and the under-16s, but this will be the first time with a first team.
It’s a nice challenge and I’m sure it will be demanding.
I’m hopeful all the players will sign again and maybe we can add a couple too.
‘David is going to concentrate on the training side of things while also wishing to continue to play.
‘The club have been relegated and our chief aim is to bounce back into Division I straight away.
We have the facilities to be a top flight club and now our target is to improve the team to get us back to the top flight and then stay there.’ Keith Taylor, St Brelade FC secretary, said: ‘We’re delighted Darren and David have taken on the management and everyone wishes them well.
Darren is a good organiser and he already has much respect from the players.
‘We thank Peter for the work he done for us and I’m sure he is staying around.
Should Darren and Dave require any advice I’m confident Peter will be happy to give it.’
