The annual report and accounts also shows that despite a troubled year and a slower start to 2006 the numbers are now averaging a record 12 per day – up 70% on last year.
The organisation, which is funded mainly by the States but also from private sponsorship, provides free and impartial advice to people who are thinking of setting up their own business or who need help to develop their business further.
The newly appointed chairman of JBV, Bill Sarre, said: ‘The JBV with its simple and lean structure, its focus towards the private sector and its well-known brand is an organisation that should be utilised going forward, rather than being abandoned, and we will continue to make this case to the States of Jersey.
