Local studies and the principles of citizenship already feature in the curr-iculum of both primary and secondary schools, but Education Minister Mike Vibert wants to broaden the range of topics covered.
To achieve this, Les Quennevais teacher John Renouf has been seconded to spend part of the summer term speaking to a variety of organisations and individuals with the idea of coming up with a programme of studies to teach all school children about the importance of citizenship.
