John, Denise and Max de Carteret have been invited to stay in the borough of Carteret, New Jersey, that was named after their ancestor and former 17th century governor of Jersey, Sir George Carteret.
The town, which is twinned with St Lawrence, Vale Parish in Guernsey and with the port of Carteret in France, is celebrating 100 years of borough status.
As part of the celebrations, the de Carterets, along with representatives from France and Guernsey, will be taken on a tour of New Jersey and New York.
