Family centre to bridge gaps in the community

The former St Mark’s School has been transformed into an informal building renamed The Bridge.

It offers residents in the catchment area opportunities to learn, develop and become more closely involved in their community.

Chief Minister Frank Walker, who officially declared it open, described its aims, facilities and approach as a ‘sensational’ project likely to be of huge benefit to those who use its many and varied services.

The centre is a first for the Island because of the way many inter-linked agencies, charities and organisations have joined together under one roof to provide wide-ranging opportunities right on the doorstep of the community who will have easy access to them.
