The Association of Jersey Architects say that the appointment of Hopkins Architects should result in the delivery of world-class architecture on the St Helier waterfront.
Environment Minister Freddie Cohen announced his decision to use the firm last week, and Hopkins will now take a look at plans for all buildings, open spaces and landscaping on the site before Planning consider them.
The association president, Mike Waddington , said that the appointment could only be of benefit to the Island.
‘It can only help to raise the quality of the overall design and implementation of the remaining hugely important waterfront developments which currently appear to be in a state of limbo,’ he said.
