Arts Centre breaks even again

And thanks to the centre’s new direct funding relationship with Education, Sport and Culture, the immediate future of St James as an arts venue is secure.

Speaking at the organisation’s annual meeting, attended by around 52 association members, Arts Centre chairman Steve Haigh announced a net surplus for 2005 of £5,350 following surpluses of £7,613 in 2004 and £124 in 2003.

Describing the centre as one of the most successful arts venues in Europe, he went on to say that he was extremely confident about the Arts Centre’s future prospects and developments.
