May also saw a record-breaking number of 61,603 first-time visitors, the majority local or UK-based but also from nearly 200 other countries.

The website’s most popular sections include news and advertising from the Jersey Evening Post, the five-day weather forecast from the Jersey Met Office and live travel information from the Airport and Harbour.

The recently launched HouseFinder service has proved popular with prospective home buyers, as are searches through the Jersey Evening Post recruitment, motoring and classified advertising sections.

Darren Umney, Guiton Group internet manager, said: ‘These figures partly show an overall trend for increased internet usage both in Jersey and globally but the real driver to our site is the breadth and quality of information we deliver online and the ease with which people can access it.

‘This is particularly good news for our advertisers, who want to reach the widest possible audience.
