With the weekend likely to be bathed in baking sunshine, Islanders are being invited to celebrate Polish art, food, fashion, music and, of course, enjoy a vodka or two.

The week-long event starts tomorrow evening with a classical concert at the Opera House by celebrated Polish pianist Stanislaw Drzewiecki.

On Saturday the Royal Square will be decked out in red and white for a biesiada – or traditional Polish fair – featuring folk music, food and dancing.

There is a fashion show at the Museum Brasserie that evening followed by a Polish pub night at Blue Bar on Sunday night.

The curtain goes up on the Golden Lions of Polish Cinema mini film festival at Cineworld on Monday.
