Poster ban puts the DJs in a spin

The roads committee says posters, which are mainly put up by DJs to advertise nightclub gigs, make the town look scruffy and it wants the law changed to give it more power to deal with what it calls illegal adverts.

However, music lovers and DJs have reacted with outrage to the suggestion that fly posting could be restricted.

Mal White, of White Label records, said: ‘If they want to do that then the grumpy old committee should ban election posters.

They stay up a lot longer than nightclub adverts.’
