The 3,200 sq ft of warehousing in Rue de Gros will be the site of Jersey Telenet’s main technical centre and the international gateway for roaming and international communications services.
Parent company Bharti Telecom, trading as Jersey Telenet, announ-ced last month that it intended to invest around £20 million in Jersey and has also applied for a 3G licence in Guernsey.
Chief executive David Watson said that a change of use for the Rue des Prés warehouse had already been approved and detailed plans would be submitted shortly.
‘The acquisition of our technical centre is a key milestone,’ he said.
