The States debate is on Tuesday and this week States Members were invited by Transport Minister Guy de Faye and his team at the Transport and Technical Services Department to a presentation about the issue.

The Council of Ministers have already been briefed on what Deputy de Faye said was the extreme importance of making a decision, as have the Environment Scrutiny Panel.

The options being put forward for the new incinerator are at La Collette – the site favoured by the team – or Bellozanne.

Deputy de Faye said that the provision of a new plant, which would be operational for up to 30 years, was ‘a very serious issue needing an immediate decision’.
