St Helier want to turn part of Lower Park into a skatepark and Ferguson’s Folly bus shelter into a café or viewing platform.
The scheme would cost around £300,000, and would only go ahead if parishioners in St Helier agreed to the idea, Planning gave future designs the go-ahead and sponsorship was found.
St Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft said the idea had the support of the Channel Islands Skateboard Association and added that the Waterfront Enterprise Board would be prepared to contribute.
He said it had come up after a group of young people were spoken to by the police for skateboarding at Hautlieu School.
In the past, attempts have been made to install the park on the People’s Park, but this move led to opposition from residents.
