Chris Evans, managing director of telecommunications data centre Foreshore, wants the Island government to come up with a strategy to reduce dependence on the finance industry.
He said: ‘Jersey has the advantage of limited self-determination but the disadvantages of remoteness, scarce resources and high costs.
‘The current economic growth plan commits Jersey to growth objectives as well as to examining new types of business activity that will help diversify the economy.
However to do this effectively requires a strategic economic diversification plan, which I don’t believe exists.
