Richard Mills, a research director for the National Autistic Society and leading figure in the charity Research Autism, was bestowed with the honour by Autism Jersey.
The award was created to highlight the work done by people to improve the lives of people with autism in the Island.
Mr Mills has been working with the founders of Autism Jersey to set up the organisation since its creation was mooted a year ago and has liaised between States departments and parents.
