‘We’ve also had talks with Les Ormes, but they could only offer us one court when, ideally, we’d need three or four.

‘At Les Quennevais there’s the space for an indoor netball centre; there are also excellent changing facilities and a café so it would be a logical move to build indoor courts there.

‘Over the years we must have lost quite a few girls who have given up netball because they’ve had games postponed because of the weather, or because they’ve simply hated playing in the wind and rain at Les Quennevais or at the FB Fields.’ ‘We have over 500 players,’ she said, ‘which must make us one of the most popular sports in the Island.

Because we have to play on outdoor courts, we are dependent on the weather which also means we are constrained by what we can do with our youngsters.

‘The island needs an indoor netball centre and I will do everything in my power, during my presidency, to get one built.’
