Three suggested sites were opened up to the public last week and 230 people went to the parish hall to register their vote.

Field 252B and the remaining part of Field 204, adjacent to the new first-time buyer development off Rue de Jambart, came out as the most popular, with 90 votes, closely followed by the glasshouse site at La Lourderie on Field 274, which received 88 votes.

Plans to develop Field 102 on the north of the coast road near the junction with Rue de Samarès received 15 votes, while 37 people voted against all the proposed locations.

But parishioner Senator Len Norman said that he wanted the decision rescinded while consideration was given to turning the old St Clement’s School into a sheltered housing development.
