However, virtually every flight in and out of Jersey operated, albeit with delays, and most people were able to complete their journeys to the UK.
Armed police were still at the Airport today and Assistant Economic Development Minister Alan Maclean said the threat level remained critical.
He gave permission for the Airport to stay open late last night to handle delayed flights but in the end the last aircraft touched down shortly after 10 pm.
‘It is expected there will be some delays today as a result of the knock-on effects of yesterday’s delays in the UK,’ he said.
Flights were starting to return to normal and virtually every service was running to schedule this morning.
