TRIATHLON Clements claims top spot Paul Clements came through to win yesterday’s Jersey Triathlon Club’s PedalPower sprint (1,000m swim, 30 km bike, 7 km run) triathlon at St Catherine’s, ahead of two visiting UK athletes.
Nick Saunders was second and Garry Palmer third.
Dan Halksworth made an excellent start in the swim but problems with his bike ended his race.

TUG-OF-WAR St Ouennais pull to seventh St Ouen’s tug-of-war team, representing Jersey, finished seventh out of nine in the 680 kilo class in the national championship in Belfast on Saturday.
Jersey’s points came from a 2-0 defeat of Scotland and draws with both the Northern Ireland A and B team.
England A won the overall competition.
CYCLING Junior is the winner In grim conditions at Les Quennevais yesterday the Caesarean Cycling Club track (handicap) criterium was won by junior Chris Seviour, with Chris Spence second and veteran rider Mike Mitchinson third.
MOUNTAIN BIKES Charity downhill race Michael Boarer won the mountainbike downhill enduro race through the woods at Grève de Lecq yesterday, with veteran Bruce Dingle second.
A total of £700 has already been raised through entries alone, and there will be further money to come, all for Jersey Hospice Care, as all the competitors have also been raising money through sponsorship.
