Fuji Photo in New Street is now the Fuji Digital Photo Centre, boasting a ‘kiosk bar’ with four new machines where people can bring in their digital camera cards, select and edit the ones they want and print them off in comfort, with a free coffee included.
Customers can also choose to have their photos printed for them, within 30 minutes, with discounts for larger quantities.
But Mr Jenkins reckons he will have up to ten individual booths within the next 18 months – because that’s the way business is going.
‘The whole point is that if people print them off themselves they are in control of the whole process.
But there will still be those who find sitting in front of a PC intimidating.
The new machines allow simple editing tasks, such as cropping and taking out the ‘red eye’ effect, and will print in double-quick time.
Prints can be taken from memory cards, CD or USB pen and photos transferred to a disk or used to create calendars, greeting cards and collage prints.
Staff are on hand to assist with any difficulties.
