The total has been split equally between Jersey Hospice Care and Les Bourgs Hospice in Guernsey.

Everyone at Ogier supports the Charity Action Group in some way.

Many of the 300 staff contribute at least £5 per month through the firm’s 300 Club.

Additional cash is raised through charity events such as the annual summer ball balloon race, sales of cakes and second-hand books, treasure hunts and a Christmas raffle.

Sandie Wileman of the Ogier Charity Action Group said: ‘We have about a dozen people who make up our Ogier Charity Action Group committee and co-ordinate the fund-raising efforts of each of the Jersey, Guernsey and London offices.

‘In 2005 we had sky jumps and fun runs.

It was another fantastic year for us and the staff had a lot of fun thinking up new ways to raise money.
