Students hope for record results

The 470 teenagers were among tens of thousands of students around the British Isles picking up the results of their A-level exams.

Among Jersey students pleased with their results were four from Hautlieu School.

Hannah Quénault (18), said: ‘I wasn’t expecting to get three As.

I’m really glad because I only needed three Bs to get my place at York University.’ Jenny Neuschaffer (18), who got three Bs, said: ‘I wasn’t expecting to do as well as I did.

I haven’t even decided what I want to do next year yet.’ Jessica Phipps (18), who is going on to study journalism at Cardiff University, said: ‘Two As and a B was exactly what I wanted and what I needed to get on my course.

I’m really, really pleased.’
