All 12 Jurats and the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, agreed that three trees and two overhanging branches should be left alone – although one tree was put on probation for six years by the court until the next time they visit the parish.

It was the first Visite for both the Constable, Mike Jackson, and the Lieut-Governor, Lieutenant-General Andrew Ridgway, and the rain held off until minutes after all of the court were back in their cars.

Having first assembled at the parish hall to inspect and approve the accounts and receive a report from the honorary police, the court were taken to the first site to be inspected, which was on Rue du Pont Marquet.

The raconteur, David Levitt, pointed out a large tree which he argued hung into the road and had already been hit by several high-sided vehicles.
