Police chief Graham Power said: ‘The States of Jersey Police is part of a mutual aid partnership which provides support to forces throughout the British Isles at times of unusual pressure.
‘We can confirm that we have responded to a request from colleagues in London to provide support through the temporary loan of a small number of officers with the appropriate experience and skills.
‘For operational reasons we have been asked not to disclose the number and nature of the officers provided.
We are pleased to providing assistance to the UK at such a difficult time and recognise that our own officers will gain valuable experience which will be used for the benefit of the Island.’
