It is demanding payment for the time one of their staff had to spend at the blaze as a retained firefighter.
Randalls Vautier Group chief executive David Le Quesne said that as Vulcan Fireworks had accepted responsibility for the fire which engulfed the Bouley Bay headland and cliffside for almost a week, they should take the responsibility for the cost of covering his member of staff for the day as well.
Chris Godfray of Vulcan Fireworks says that the invoice has been passed on to their insurance company.
The Water’s Edge Hotel has also indicated that it would be making a claim.
Transport and Technical Services have closed the road which leads to the pier at Bouley Bay over concerns about the stability of the slope above it.
The department say that they will also pursue an insurance claim to cover their costs for work to shore up the slope, which they say could take some weeks.
