Nearly 300 parishioners attended a parish assembly and the majority voted for a proposition by Senator Len Norman to overturn their previous vote in favour of a sheltered housing development.
There was a heated discussion over plans for the parish to work with a developer to build 56 homes in fields adjacent to the new Rue de Jambart development.
In the end Senator Norman’s proposition to rescind the previous vote was carried by 194 votes to 59.
Many of those present chose not to vote, and there were ten spoilt papers.
