Once again the Island’s schools were full of many a smiling face as students achieved up to 100 per cent pass rates.

Andy Gibbs, head of careers and work-related learning, said that 90 per cent of students were expected to remain in full-time education this year.

‘This figure is significantly above that of the UK and is expected to remain so this year as the job market for 16-year-olds continues to be difficult,’ he said.
