Walk on in hope

Its aim is not just to raise money for the charity but also to help people find companions.

The event will take place on the Railway Walk on 17 September.

Walkers will meet at Corbière at 10 am, be arranged in two lines, and walk to Don Bridge.

Every five minutes a whistle will be blown and the lead walker in one line will move to the back while everyone else in the line moves forward one place.

Every walker will be provided with a small notebook and a biro to take down names and contact numbers of fellow walkers and to add scores and comments – although Mrs Weber suggests that they do that in code.

Entry to the walk costs £5, and all proceeds go to Jersey Hospice Care.

To register, call 510349, e-mail fundraising@jerseyhospicecare.org.je or simply turn up on the day with your money.
