Both the Amicus union – which represents hundreds of Jersey Telecom (JT) staff – and the Transport and General Workers Union are urging members to turn up in force at Hautlieu School next Thursday night.
The meeting is expected to be addressed by Treasury Minister Terry Le Sueur and he could face a rough ride if workers support the call to come out to protest.
Local Amicus senior representative Tim Langlois said he would be rallying the troops at JT and other utility companies where the union has members, to show what they think of the planned sell-off.
