Customers will be able to access the newspaper content via WAP (Wireless Application Protocol), a secure system that allows users access to information instantly via mobile phones and hand-held wireless devices such as a Blackberry.
Initially they will be provided with news, sport and business headlines, and further content from the Jersey Evening Post’s www.thisisjersey.
com is likely to be available as the arrangement progresses.
A deal has been struck between Cable & Wireless and the Guiton Group.
Guiton owns the Jersey Evening Post and Guernsey Press and associated websites thisisjersey.com and thisisguernsey.com.
News and information will be sent to Cable & Wireless in Jersey, who will pass it on to their customers.
