No luck for Les Amis

Les Amis, a subsidiary of Jersey Mencap, provides residential accommodation for adults with learning difficulties.

It aims to help people live normally in society, living in their own homes for which they have responsibility, assisted by the charity’s staff.

Due to a combination of factors, the charity has this year turned to the private sector for the first time in its history to find suitable properties to rent.

It needs to rent six-bedroom houses for renting to be economically viable.

To raise awareness of their work, as well as funds, Les Amis are to hold their second Summer Golden Ball on Saturday 9 September at St Ouen’s Manor.
