Staff were told about the decision last night and were assured that there would be no redundancies.
Managing director Paul Collier said that the Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche sides of the business would move to the company’s Airport site, with the other brands going to the Motor Mall.
A planning application has been made to turn Centenary House, the building which currently houses the Porsche showroom, into a ‘food and general retail unit’ .
It is understood that the main showroom already has permission for retail use and the petrol forecourt will stay where it is.
Mr Collier said that the servicing and repair workshop currently at the St Peter site would also be moved to the Motor Mall site after a brand new facility had been completed at Mont à l’Abbé.
