The new device – named Busta – is available to anyone with an internet connection and an e-mail address – and it’s free.

Voice Commerce experts have been working on the concept for over a year and have finally come up with the voice equivalent of the Hotmail e-mail system that is currently used by 187 million internet users.

It means users will be able to receive and make phone calls anywhere in the world.

Users of the new product, which was launched last week, will also be able to check their video messages and talk as well as send texts.

Mr Ogden, the president of the company, said the announcement had provoked huge media interest.

‘We’ve been bombed out – it’s been manic.

Over 50,000 media people have downloaded the launch press release worldwide.

Already, say Voice Commerce, there have been well over 1,000 customer sign-ups and demand for more Busta gadgets.
