Reports from the city say that Liverpool’s directors could meet tomorrow to debate potential takeover bids.

Mr Morgan, who is a multi-millionaire and made his money through building up the public company Redrow Homes, has been reported to be one of the bidders.

The club has previously been linked with major investment or a takeover, with Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra – who could be ousted from power by a military coup – and American Robert Kraft among those who have tried to buy the club before.
