Centenier Malcolm L’Amy, who was first alerted to the claims last month, says he is now pretty convinced it exists.
He has received 22 calls from all over the Island to vouch for the four-legged stranger – and he is urging all others to keep watch.
He said: ‘I’m certainly not ruling out the fact that there might be a fox in the Island.
I know people are making fun about it and taking the mickey but 22 people of that calibre cannot be wrong.
I would find it hard to doubt these people, all of whom clearly know what a fox looks like.
