Advertisements are about to be placed in airline trade publications seeking expressions of interest from carriers prepared to offer seasonal or year-round services to countries including France, Portugal, Poland and Spain.

Assistant Economic Development Minister Alan Maclean said initially Jersey Airport will be looking for airlines to consider flying to Brussels, Nice, Marseilles, Bordeaux, Nantes, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Warsaw, Faro, Lisbon, Alicante, Stockholm, Zurich and Geneva.

‘Nothing is going to happen overnight but we will be seeking expressions of interest from carriers.

We want to see who is out there.

There is a big difference between securing an expression of interest and then doing the economic due diligence on a route,’ he said.
