Peter Tarrant, who is based in St Ouen and runs Maritek Worldwide Ltd, has already established farms in Greece, Cyprus, Turkey and the Shetlands.
Now a group of private investors has asked him to do the same in Chile, Malaysia and the Caribbean islands of Nevis and St Kitts.
‘I expect to get the go-ahead next month,’ he told the JEP this week.
Maritek has also just sold the cod-hatching fishery in Shetland – one of only two in the European Union – to a London venture capital company.
