Assistant Economic Development Minister Alan Maclean says that the department are writing the terms of reference for a report on a new land reclamation scheme, the part-pedestrianisation of the Bulwarks and the transformation of the harbour into a ‘wet basin’.
Last week St Brelade No 1 Deputy Sarah Ferguson lodged a proposition seeking States backing for an assessment of the economic, environmental and engineering impact of the work.
She and Deputy Maclean say that they ‘had their wires crossed’.
Deputy Ferguson is pleased that the work is already going ahead, but wants to hold a parish assembly so that residents can have a say and put their own ideas forward.
