Chance of award for Jersey Live

The two-day festival, which drew 11,000 people to Trinity earlier this month, has been nominated for the two categories in the 2006 UK festival awards, pitting it against some of the most successful events in the country.

Jersey Live will be up against the immensely popular Cambridge Folk Festival and the UK outdoor heavy metal extravaganza Bloodstock – but despite tough competition, organiser Warren Le Sueur feels that they are still in with a good chance.

Being nominated for the award again, he said, showed that the festival, which is now in its third year, must be on the right tracks.

‘We’re really happy.

It’s the second year running that we’ve been nominated, so we must be doing something right.
