‘Retirement crisis likely’ in 25 years

More people are reaching retirement age in the Island and fewer people are working to keep them, according to Senator Terry Le Main.

Currently, 17 per cent of the Island’s population are pensioners, but they are outnumbered by working taxpayers.

However, by 2030 Senator Le Main says 30 per cent of people will be retired.
