Jersey, blessed with superb facilities and the administrators to go with them, are next year hoping to host either the European Cricket Council’s U19 tournament in July (23-29) or the, still to be confirmed, U23 event in August (14-16).
And with Jersey prepared to step onto the world stage, 2008 will bring the possibility of Jersey hosting the World Cricket League Division V matches in May or June or the European Division II tournament in August.
Reflecting on these announcements JCB president Keith Dennis, heaped praise on director of cricket Chris Minty.
‘I hope people appreciate how much Chris has done to facilitate this position.
It’s a huge step forward for Jersey on the international stage.’ Jersey’s U15s will take part in an August tournament next year, either in Germany or Spain.
