Constables say they were not consulted about the ‘Policing of commercial events: user pays’ proposition that Home Affairs Minister Wendy Kinnard lodged, and that it could have an impact on the honorary police.

Chief Minister Frank Walker, Senator Kinnard, Economic Development Minister Philip Ozouf and the Constables’ Committee will meet to discuss the proposal before it is debated on 21 November.

The head of the Constables’ Committee, St Ouen Constable Ken Vibert, said the Constables were not happy that the policy had been brought to the House without any reference to them.
