Plémont debate ‘relevant to all of our coastline’

In a letter to the National Trust for Jersey’s executive officer Charles Alluto, Fiona Reynolds says that National Trust staff in the UK knew from their own experience how vital the active engagement of people who loved the coast was to its future.

Forty years ago, when they started their campaign Enterprise Neptune, the coastline was vulnerable to commercial development and poor management.

Since then, the generosity and energy of an army of supporters had saved 700 miles of the targeted 900 miles of coast for ever and for everyone.
