Proprietor Jimmie Webster, a legend in Island diving circles who used to tour the world as a cabaret roller skater, is leaving the premises after problems insuring the Inner Road building.
He is transferring the stock to his Ski Deep shop in Great Union Road.
He said: ‘The building wasn’t safe and the insurance company didn’t want to insure me any more – I couldn’t continue without public liability insurance.
Another reason is the decline of the sport.
‘It has nosedived in the past three or four years,’ said Mr Webster.
